Refrigerator Types

Top Freezers

Top Freezers

Top Freezers offer the traditional style refrigerator with the freezer at eye level, on top of the fresh food compartment of the fridge. Essentially the most popular refrigerator style, Top Freezer models have a familiar straight forward design and are more affordable than other models. In many cases, you can get the doors of the refrigerator installed to open from the left or right to help fit in a particular space in your kitchen.

Bottom Freezers

Bottom Freezers

Bottom Freezers are essentially the opposite of Top Freezer models, with the freezer being located at the bottom below the fresh food compartment. This design tends to make it easier to access items from the freezer. These models are similarly priced to Top Freezer models, usually being more economical.

Compact

Compact

Typically placed in dorm rooms and offices, Compact Refrigerators can be featured in smaller rooms outside of a kitchen. They offer the convenience of keeping a smaller amount of items cold while taking up limited space.

Freezerless

Freezerless

Freezerless refrigerators are exactly that, a version of a refrigerator with no freezer. If keeping frozen items is not a priority (or you have a separate freezer appliance), Freezerless Refrigerators offer more space for cooling than most other models.

French Door

French Door

A French Door Refrigerator combines a modern look with functionality. This model has the advantage of a bottom freezer and side-by-side doors above it which open to a full-width fresh foods compartment, which make it easier to store larger cold items. Most current models also offer through-the-door water and ice dispensers.

Side-by-Side

Side-by-Side

If you are looking to maximize the convenience between freezer and fresh foods compartments, Side-by-Side Refrigerators may be the right choice. These models have double doors with narrower shelves in order to split the space offered between freezer and fresh foods. Both compartments span top to bottom of the refrigerator.
